Liz receives her trophy from Division F Governor Andy Gerron

Llano member Liz Avery won the Division F International Speech contest in Lubbock on April 9, 2011.  She will move forward to the District 23 contest to compete against the other five Division Champions in District 23.

The winner of the District contest will move forward to the International Semi-Finals in Las Vegas this August.

It’s time for Officer Elections.  Current President Stacy van Atta will be distributing the proposed slate of officers via email.

Llano Estacado member Dallas Brown recently had his fourth book of poetry published by PublishAmerica.com.  Titled “Intimate Voice of God,” Dallas touches upon the subject of the intimate friendship God offers to us.  His first three books are titled:  “Heavy Rain & Light Breezes,” “Escape Death’s Shadow,” and “The Spirit Leads Home.”

Lubbock Toastmaster Irma Rubio, a member of the Llano Estacado club, was named one of seven Hispanas of the Year by the Hispanic Association of Women. Irma was recognized in the Medical category.  Read the full story at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
