Fourteen

After several months of work, on October 1, 2000, a couple of Toastmasters and about 17 employees of a telephone operator service company sat down and chartered a little club that was once known as OSCar Talks in Lubbock, Texas.

After many moves around town and a name change, Llano Estacado Toastmasters celebrated its 14th Anniversary today with a full house, cupcakes, and contest speech practices by our two contestants.

Visit our club, join, and help us celebrate #15 next year!

Welcome, Crystal!

Club President Kerry Mobley congratulates
Crystal Collins after Crystal delivered her Ice Breaker.
Llano Estacado Toastmasters' newest member, Crystal Collins, gave her Ice Breaker speech today. Crystal is experienced with presenting in front of groups, and did not think that she needed Toastmasters. After visiting our club’s Open House a few weeks ago, she realized that she could improve her impromptu speaking skills and eliminate her overuse of crutch words like uh and um. Crystal concluded that she joined Toastmasters not for herself, but for everyone she communicates with.
